Each Fractaala® is named after an island around the world (something within the piece will resonate with its island name) and is completely unique.
Al-Khor (Purple). Al Khor Island, also known as Purple Island, is located off the north-east coast of Qatar.
Ambrym (volcano). Ambrym island is a volcanic island in the archipelago of Vanuatu which is 1750km east of northern Australia. It is one of the most active volcanos in the area although since last erupting in 2018, the lava lake has disappeared.
Andros (blue hole). Andros Island in The Bahamas has more blue holes than anywhere else on earth. Blue holes are sinkholes or underwater caves, typically circle-shaped and become entrances to the intricate cave systems which run underneath the island and sea floor.
Anvers (Ice and glacier). Anvers island, which is set in the Antarctic and was one of the first places ever discovered in that region. It has been used as a base station by the British Antarctic Survey in the 1950’s and later was loaned to the American government for use as a scientific centre.
Austral (Underwater island (seamount). The Austral Islands are in French Polynesia in the South Pacific. Some of the islands are in fact underwater, or seamounts. The word Austral literally means coming from the south.
Baffin (ice and glacier). Baffin Island is in the Arctic, in the Canadian territory of Nunavut, is the largest island in Canada and the fifth-largest island in the world.
Blue (XL). Blue island is a fabulous 700-acre private island located in the exquisite Exuma Cays of the Bahamas. It is the largest private island in the Bahamas and has over 3 miles of beautiful coastline and white sandy beaches.

Fire (summer heat). Fire Island is a thin Atlantic Ocean barrier island off the southern shore of Long Island, New York, USA and known as a popular getaway from the heat of NY city.
Ihuru (my paradise). Ihuru is an island in the Maldives with the perfect white beach, turquoise lagoon and deep blue reef drop-off.
Juan Fernandez (3 small island chain). The Juan Fernandez islands are a sparsely inhabited island group in the South Pacific Ocean situated off the coast of Chile, composed of three main volcanic islands: Robinson Crusoe, Alejandro Selkirk and Santa Clara.
Luzon (an island within an island). Luzon is an island at the most Northern point of the Philippines. There is a lake at the southern tip of the island. Lake Taal. This lake contains a volcano crater, in which there is also a lake, and in the middle of that there is another island, Vulcan Point!
Les Gilis (3 small island chain). Les Gilis is an archipelago of three tiny islands in Indonesia. The Gili Islands are known as Gili Trawangan, Gili Meno and Gili Air. Floating in a turquoise sea, with golden beaches and fringed with palm trees, they are a little tropical paradise.
Luna (moon). Luna island is a very small, uninhabited island in the Niagara River, in the US state of New York.
Violet (Ilha Lilás). Named after Terceira, an island in the Azores known in Portuguese as Ilha Lilás, which translated means ‘lilac’ or ‘violet island’ so called because of its captivating pastel sunsets.
Mackinac (lilac festival). Mackinac Island sits in Lake Huron, between Michigan’s Upper and Lower peninsulas. Since 1949, the island’s residents have been celebrating the island’s native lilacs with an annual spring 10-day festival.
Middle (pink lake) Middle Island is a small (c. 2 ha), rocky island lying close to the shore of south-western Victoria, Australia, in Stingray Bay next to the city of Warrnambool. It contains Lake Hillier which is pink due to an organism called Dunaliella Salina.
Okinawa (sakura – cherry blossom). The first cherry blossoms in Japan happen in the small subtropical southern archipelago of Okinawa and its surrounding islands. Cherry blossoms are a symbolic flower of the spring, a time of renewal, and the fleeting nature of life.
Santorini (blue vistas and whitewashed walls). Santorini is one of the Greek Cyclades islands in the Aegean Sea. It is instantly recognisable for its whitewashed buildings often adorned with blue rooves and the fabulous vista of blue sea and sky.
Saunders (volcano and ice). This volcanic island, mostly covered by ice, contains one of only eight lava lakes in the world. It is located in the South Sandwich islands in the southern Atlantic ocean.
Skye (sea & sky). Skye is the largest of the Inner Hebridean Islands off the North West Scottish coast.

The Purple Islands (Banwol and Bakji). Banwol and Bakji Islands in South Korea have been nicknamed the Purple islands as everything is painted purple, inspired by the local purple bellflower.
Two Groups (Marokau & Ravahere) The Two Groups Islands are in French Polynesia – only Marokau (the larger one) is inhabited.
